ROAD TRAFFIC ACCIDENT

If you have been involved in a road traffic accident, whether as a driver, passenger, pedestrian or cyclist, within the last three years which was not your fault or only partly your fault, and you sustained injury or loss, you may be able to claim compensation. In addition to compensation for personal injury, you may be entitled to recover any loss of earnings incurred as a result of the accident, together with other uninsured losses such as policy excess, inconvenience and damage to clothing or other personal items.

Motorists are required by law to have appropriate insurance cover in place for their vehicle and any claim will be dealt with by the responsible driver's insurance company. Where the responsible driver is uninsured or untraced, you may still have a claim. The Motor Insurers Bureau are an organisation which was established to compensate the victims or uninsured or untraced drivers.
